Ever wanted to participate in the emergent conversation? Here’s a chance for dialogue. From the website, anewkindofconversation.com:
This blog-book will discuss what a postmodern evangelical faith looks like. The blog format will make it possible to allow you the reader, to participate in the writing of both the blog and the eventual published book to follow by Paternoster Press. Be a part of this experiment in conversation by adding your voice to the discussion.

It occurs to me that a least a few of you stumble in here after searching the web for information about baldness or sinus surgery. I know this because a couple of you have reached out and emailed me with questions, and if a couple have asked, then more have lurked.
I thought I’d make it known that I have no problem answering questions about either topic, baldness or my recent sinus surgery. I’d even be happy to answer questions about my appendectomy, if you’re interested. So, feel free to drop me a comment, or if you prefer a more private conversation, shoot me an email.
So, all you lurkers who have been waiting for an invitation to ask your questions… consider yourselves invited.

After a couple quiet months, I’m making an attempt to get back in the groove. I’m at a fancy hotel in downtown Columbus, OH for work, and I can’t believe they CHARGE FOR INTERNET ACCESS, $10/DAY for something that mid-scale hotels (Ramada Inn, Fairfield Inn, etc.) give out for free. What a crock.
Anyway, with that out of my system, I’ll proceed with a couple random bullets… a little something to get back in the groove.
- Heard a wonderful commentary on All Things Considered Wednesday by Gwen Macsai entitled, “Preparing Boys for Girls.” It’s about the differences between pre-adolescent boys and girls. Kerri always told me that junior high school was sheer torture, which baffled me. Now, however, I understand it a little better.
- Also, on All Things Considered, I heard a story about the special congressional election held this week in other parts of Ohio. The Republican contender won, but only by a very slim margin in a district that voted nearly 2:1 for the Republican party in 2004. I have further thoughts on this, but I want to do a little homework. In the mean time I’ll limit myself to this comment: In the sound bite that played during the story, I don’t think the winning candidate ever referred to herself. She spoke exclusively of the party and the President. Based on this (and this alone) I have to wonder if she has identity of her own, or is she simply going to be a puppet for the party and administration?
- I’ve read several books recently. (It sure beats watching infomercials during the 4:00 am feeding.) Among them, Mealtime Habits of the Messiah, The Lost Message of Jesus, and my current read, Colossians Remixed. I’ve enjoyed them all, and I hope to say more about each later.
Enough for now. I’m going to read for a bit before hitting the sack.
Lord, grant me and those I love and peaceful night and a perfect end.
