When did she get so big?

Kerri sent me this a few weeks back, and since I don’t get to post many pictures of the kids…

My little girl is growing up. Did I tell you she beat me a Pokemon the other day? Our very first game… I was so excited!

Bake Element

I just installed it in my oven. All by myself to boot. The old one during church last week.

I’ll admit that I did give my dad a quick call before flipping the circuit breaker back on just in case there was something obvious I overlooked, but no… no. It was all good. Power’s on, and it glows a nice glow-y red. Kerri will no doubt test it’s baking prowess in the next day or two. :)
Yay me.

BTW - Partselect.com gets a +1 from me. After checking local big-box appliance and DIY stores for naught on Saturday, we ordered the part online that afternoon. It was shipped Monday and arrived today in good condition.

‘In Christ’ or ‘Christ in You’?

Cafe ParadoxSo, I’m working through a backlog of old post ideas still. Quiet spells like the one experienced over the last few weeks are not helping me trim down the backlog. The queue to write gets longer and longer… as does the queue of waiting RSS feeds.

Another one from last summer has popped up. Chris, aka Desert Pastor, is one of my favorite bloggers. He often has thoughts the stir my brain and faith, and he’s nurtured a nice little community of conversation in the comments as well. Last summer he wrote this little ditty: ‘In Christ’ or ‘Christ in You’? While there have been many since then I’ve enjoyed, this one in particular stirred thoughts of sufficient quantity to merit a post of my own.

Chris explores this paradox a bit and wonders if evangelicals have gotten off kilter here. Read the rest of this entry »

I gots me a new job

Blogging our way to financial freedom.

Just a quick personal update. I have a new job. No, didn’t get rid of the old one; I’m still in the pension administration business. I just picked up a new role at b5media. I’m the new Channel Editor for the Video Games channel. Cool, huh? Now that I got a second hand PS2, (Thanks, Josh!) I meet minimum qualifications. :D
This extra cash is coming in real handy… We’re this close to being out of debt. Speaking of extra cash, if you think you’d like to be a pro-blogger, check out the Job Boards over at Problogger.net. There are a number of openings listed, including a couple in my new neighborhood.
